Can I get some athletic support?

It’s Sunday, it’s December, and that can only mean one thing… football!! As I sit here waiting for the 1 pm games to begin, I thought I’d write about the various sports I’ve played during my 39-year tenure in the greatest sports town in America (that would be Boston, in case you were wondering).

I wasn’t always athletic. In fact, I was your stereotypical “fat kid” (fattest kid in class, picked last for sports… the whole bit). Although I hated it at the time, I suppose in retrospect I’m thankful that, starting in 7th grade, team sports became mandatory at my school. Over the course of the next six years, I played baseball, football, basketball, soccer, wrestling, downhill skiing, tennis, golf, sailing, and ice hockey. I added rugby to the mix in 2004. Hockey really stuck… I played consistently from 1987 until just a few years ago. Unfortunately, after a serious shoulder injury in 2005 (I was hit by a car while riding my bike home from work) and a torn ACL during a rugby match in 2009 — both injuries requiring surgery — I decided it was time to hang up the skates/boots. Once I recovered, I started playing football in Boston’s enormous (and incredibly well-run) gay flag football league. Next year will be my third in the league, and I love it!! I even played with Boston’s delegation at the national gay flag football championship (where I cemented my relationship with Dirk, by the way) and hope to again next year.

Since sports is a big part of my life — team sports, especially — I keep thinking how hot it would be to film a locker room scene. Imagine me and, say, Rogan Richards tag-teaming the likes of Race Cooper! And I’ve been pushing for it. Here’s the transcript of a text message exchange I had with TitanMen production assistant David Richards last week:

JJ:     I’ve always wanted to do a locker room scene.

JJ:     Dirk and I did a sports-themed live show at Steamworks. Went over well.

    JJ:

JJ:     I used to play baseball… I was the catcher. Don’t laugh. My little league team was the Giants.

    DR:    Oh c’mon! Can’t I giggle just a bit?

JJ:     I loved it, but eventually my knees gave out. It’s true. Seriously, DO NOT LAUGH.

    DR:    < snort >  couldn’t help it

JJ:     I played as a catcher until high school, then I switched to football.

JJ:     Where I played tight end. Not kidding.

JJ:     And when I played rugby, my boyfriend at the time was the hooker. Runs in the family.

DR:    Why aren’t you blogging this?

JJ:     If I do, will you hook me up with a locker room scene?

    DR:    We’ll see.

So what do you guys think? Locker room scene, yes or no? And which sport should it be based on? Let me (and Titan) know! I’ve posted some pics below to give you inspiration.

UPDATE 1/23/2014: I got my wish!! A couple of weeks ago I filmed not one but two locker room scenes with Titan! They’ll be released later this year, but in the meantime you can check out some behind-the-scenes pictures of the two scenes here and here.

Locker room scene? Hell yeah. Which sport? Here’s my ranking, in order: baseball, football, ice hockey, or golf. (Golf? Yeah, seeing you go from hunky, handsomely/crisply dressed golfer to naked fucker would be hot.) Your getting hit by a car, as well as enduring the torn ACL, sound horrible; glad you survived both.

    P.S. – Go Nationals! Go Redskins! 🙂

I definitely agree that it should be a locker room scene as rugby players. I have always found rugby tough and taunting, the bodies and their shorts. Plus all the physical contact and grabbing! Fucking rugby players would be an awesome scene!

I vote for a ruggers scene, too. Not footsies (soccer).

Plus, you’re a tough looking mutha in those pix! You must be a terror in a scrum.

I played 2nd Row (a.k.a. the “engine” of the scrum), usually #5. My linemate (#4) was 4 inches taller and 50 pounds heavier than me… so yeah, we did okay. 😉

What’s amazing is that both your ears are still intact!! Many a rugger can’t say the same. LOL

Way too cool man. I vote for rugby too, mainly because after I play a match I am horny as a goat. Unfortunately I’m also sore as hell and exhausted so sleep (usually) wins. 😉

BTW, I play lock as well (6’5″, 260) and wear number 5 as well. And I wear a scrum cap. Way too cool.
