Love is Love.

WOW… it’s been a whirlwind 36 hours. Perhaps you’ve read the Huffington Post article about this whole “banned kiss” ordeal, or read about it on Joe Spunk (who first broke the story… thanks Joe!), SFist, The Sword, Queer Me Now, KRON4, DanNation, or any of the other fine blogs and news outlets that picked up the story. I’m thrilled to say that, as of a couple hours ago, the banned photo of me and Dirk kissing has been fully restored to my Facebook page! (You can see it here.)

Dirk and I want to wish the warmest of “thank you”s to ALL our incredible fans your endless, amazing support! And in celebration of this wonderfully heartening turn of events, and the fact that love always wins out over bigotry and hate, here’s a whole gallery of Dirk and I doing what we love to do more than (almost) anything else. Thanks again for everything… and always, always remember that LOVE IS LOVE, and LOVE CONQUERS ALL!

With much love as always,
Dirk Caber and Jesse Jackman

I just recently read an article on Huffington post about your ban from Facebook after the picture you posted of you and your boyfriend kissing. I was shocked to hear that Facebook would do this. What is the difference between a man and a women, or people of a different race posting pictures of affection on there pages? The answer is that there is none. Yes, you may not have what most people would consider a healthy normal job but we are in a new era. In my opinion TitanMen does a great job with the ARTWORK they produce. When I compare straight porn to gay porn I find that gay porn tends to be done in an more artful manor, not saying that straight porn isn’t. I believe that what you do takes courage and strength and as well as having a boyfriend on top of that just goes to show how level headed you are and how your able to separate your work from your personal relationships. For those of you who disagree, go waste your time somewhere else. Individuals such as Jesse Jackmen and Dick Caber are the perfect example of how you can truly love a person not matter what the gender.

What’s even more ludicrous than this “banning” is the other material that FB allows to stay. Recently a video went viral of a man in Norway, who strips naked, gets erect and then approaches random female strangers with the intent to hug them and cause them to react to his erection. The censored YouTube video is on FB and HAS IT’S OWN PAGE. Of course, in the USA we would consider that sexual assault among other things, but apparently those wacky Norwegians think it’s all good fun. Apparently so does FB.

I’ve read an article about your picture ban from Facebook and it got me outraged. There was no porn content about the image of you and your husband kissing. I think it was just one more case of homophobia and attempt to get gay people back into the closet. Of course, we won’t have anyone trying to hide us from society. Also, not only did I found a beautiful picture, but I think you’re a beautiful couple. And incidentally, I would like to take the chance to thank all gay porn stars and all gay porn producers for putting out man-on-man action and showing people other forms of sex and sexuality, which are also part of human nature. Best wishes.

… and so, something good comes out of something bad. 🙂 Thank you for being so supportive…. and that goes for everyone out there. The outpouring of support during all of this — the harassment, the threats, the ban — has been truly remarkable. We love you guys!

Jesse, the same thing has just happened to me, several of my gay themed photo’s meaning the ones with two men kissing, have been reported as pornographic. They removed two of the five photo’s reported, one photo reported but not removed is of you & Dirk kissing which I used as my cover photo. If you can let me know who you contacted and what channels you had to go through so I can get unblocked I’d really appreciate the help.

Deacon, unfortunately I don’t have a good answer for you. When the photo was initially removed and my account disabled, I got a message from Facebook saying that if I believed the photo had been removed in error, I could “click here” to explain why… but the message also came with a note that not all messages would receive a reply. I submitted my appeal and then waited. Unfortunately, I never heard back from Facebook directly (and still haven’t); the 12-hour ban simply expired on its own. I can’t tell you if this is the reason why, but when the banned photo reappeared about 24 hours later, it was shortly after Facebook received a call from a reporter at the Huffington Post wishing to discuss the situation. The manager to whom the reporter spoke apparently admitted that a mistake had been made and that the situation would be corrected (see http://tiny.cc/huffpost01), but as yet I have received no explanation beyond this. So I’m afraid unless you can get a Huffington Post reporter (or some other member of the press) to intervene you might have a difficult time getting your photos reinstated. It sucks. I really wish Facebook was clearer about its rationale behind “community standards”-based violation decisions, and that they offered a more transparent and intuitive appeals process.

Wish I had a better answer for you.

We love you too. Thanks to you, Dirk Caber and all the gay porn stars out there for making our lives more pleasurable. And keep on having fun with the guys in front of camera to bring us delight. Be sure that the ones that attack you and other gay men are the ones that jerk off watching gay porn in the still of the night locked in their rooms.

Jessie you and Dirk are so obviously in love and are just SO damn cute when you kiss how the hell could anybody have a problem with that! Facebook is the big brother devil I’ve always believed that and do now more than ever. People who discriminate against sexual preference need to be smacked into reality! I’ve experienced that myself as of late being bi I’ve had str8 girls running like I’m going to attach or something ugh. Congrats on your article! Keep up the good fight 🙂
