Classical Caber for the holidays: Dirk shares his brand new Barcarole
This recording is of Dirk playing the piece — I’m not quite ready to perform it yet — using his laptop and a single microphone, a process for which he says he needs some more expertise and practice. Hence, it isn’t studio quality, but we’ve cleaned up the audio to the best of our ability, and we’re still happy and grateful to be able to share this with you. We hope you enjoy it. (This piece, along with many of Dirk’s other compositions, can also be found on his SoundCloud page.)
Dirk and I truly appreciate all the support you guys have continued to give us over the past year. Thank you for being a big part of our lives! And no matter where you are or what holiday you celebrate, we want to wish you all the best this season and happiness in new year and beyond!
Jesse and Dirk
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
For the next year I wish you much love and happiness.
Thank you for sharing your experiences with all your fans.
Love you guys!!
Beautiful!
Wow, I love this.. I greatly appreciate you sharing this with us. Jesse and Dirk I wish you both all the happiness in the upcoming year and you continue to learn and love each other. Thank you so much allowing us into your life. Dirk it was awesome finally getting the courage to say hello to you in Houston, your an awesome “Bro”.. I look forward to meeting Jesse sometime in the future 🙂 Big Hugs and Merry Christmas!
Even though it is not yet midnight, it is clear to me how fortunate it was when I came upon your blog and became acquainted with Dirk’s music. This latest offering has inspired one of my Prince Esterhazy fantasies and a phantom commission for Dirk to compose a series of pieces in varying forms based on melodic elements of various carols. That could develop into a Christmas cd for your friends and fans!
Back to reality, here’s sending you and Dirk all the best for the holidays and in the new year. Please know that you give us moments of light, hope and humor in times when they are sorely needed.
Beautiful! Simply beautiful!!!!
Simply beautiful, and yet sophisticated at the same time. Would love to learn and use this myself. Might there be a sheet music download at some point?
Agreed… as a good musician friend of Dirk’s put it with regards to this piece, “You don’t always need a lot of notes to convey a message.” As for the sheet music, Dirk says he’ll be happy to post it, but he needs to fix “a couple of durational issues in the second section” first, whatever that means. 🙂
I’ll post a link here when it’s ready.
Hauntingly Beautiful <3
May you both have a Wonderful Holiday Season
