A Hair-Razing Experience
I’ve been shaving my head for almost 10 years… and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Don’t get me wrong, I loved my barbers (sensible Vicki and her insane cousin Mark… or, as he pronounced it, “Maaaaahk”), but I can’t say I miss trekking all the way out to Roslindale every 6 weeks or so to sit around waiting for an hour; Vicki and Maaaaahk were quite talented, but as a result had tons of customers. Besides, I’d been steadily losing my hair for a couple of years, so they really had very little to do.
The first day I shaved it was July 3, 2003… my 30th birthday. I was completely prepared, having done my research and bought one of these (which I still use from time to time). I was kind of embarrassed… so when I met my friends for dinner that night, I wore a baseball cap. My friend Jamie must have suspected something; “Let’s see it,” he instructed almost immediately. So I reluctantly removed the lid. The reaction, much to my surprise, was positive; my friends loved my new look.
I had been afraid of losing my hair; I’d even tried Rogaine in my late 20s, but to no avail. At first I thought that shaving my head was the ultimate sign of defeat: alopecia had won. I quickly learned to embrace my new look, though. Soon I grew a goatee to pair with the bald noggin (they were especially popular in 2004; I remember most of the hockey players in the NHL playoffs were favoring them over the more traditional “playoff beard”). Within a couple of years, the goatee had become a beard, which I’ve had ever since. I’m pretty happy with the way I look now, and don’t foresee changing it anytime soon. Bald is beautiful! These days I shave about 2 or 3 times a week; in fact, I shaved my head just this morning, and took the above pic when I did.

The “biggest” challenge of my career
TitanMen exclusive George Ce (at left) recently filmed a scene with this porn superstar for an upcoming Titan scene, and was so impressed by what he saw that he stopped to take a picture. And George is no small man himself… click here to see previews of other films. Anyway… now it’s my turn. One week from today I’ll be filming a scene with this very same stud… the guy who impressed George so much. I’m a little nervous, but I think I’ll be okay because I’ve even been practicing (see below). Titan’s lead director Paul Wilde graciously offered me the chance to “get acquainted” with my co-star before we start the cameras rolling, but I think I’m going to pass… the penetration shot, as it’s called in the industry, is sure to get a reaction out of me that I’d love to get on film! 
I’ll be revealing my scene partner’s name next week. In the meantime, can you guess who it is?
Kinko de Mayo, Kansas City style!
THIS is why I love my job! Dirk, Johnny Parker, and I had the immense pleasure of joining the cast and crew of Hamburger Mary’s Kansas City to celebrate Cinco de Mayo… or, as they called it, Kinko de Mayo! We had an amazing time dancing and encouraging all sorts of debauchery. I spent much of the evening serving up “bear cum” shots: People would lie face-upwards on a massage table in front of me while I poured shots of rum and coconut cream into their mouths. The coconut cream looked just like… well, you know. ;) And I might have “accidentally” misfired and dribbled some onto my customers’ faces. When I did, I was sure to lick it off… I never waste a drop!
We also took time out for karaoke. Every five years or so I do karaoke to remind myself never to do karaoke, ever. Johnny and Dirk have beautiful voices, and rocked their respective renditions of “Long Black Train” and “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.” I, who can’t sing for shit, insisted that the three of us sing Kylie Minogue’s “Timebomb” as an homage to Titan director Jasun Mark’s amazing music video. The results were disastrous. (See below.)
Finally, we took time to unwind at Hamburger Mary’s Drag Brunch. We laughed… we cried… and I got to witness Parker singing “I Will Survive” while wearing a pink dress. Some things you just can’t make up. (Again… see below.)
What a fantastically fun weekend. Huge thanks to to the incredibly welcoming folks at Hamburger Mary’s and KC Bear Mafia who made us feel like royalty, to the amazing JP Barnaby and Jodi Dash who witnessed our karaoke massacre and lived to tell about it, and to all the AWESOME people who came out to the club on Saturday night! We had such a great time and met lots of amazing folks. Dirk and I are hoping that the fine ladies and gentlemen of Kansas City will have us back real soon!

(Almost) Live from the Set: Dirk Caber and Will Swagger get pumped
I’m a couple of days late with this… sorry! Dirk Caber and Will Swagger filmed a fetish scene upstairs at Mr. S Leather on Friday, and I’ve got a couple of pics to share. I’ve never used one of these… but maybe I should buy one and try it out.
The Wrong Idea
Dirk’s third COLT film, ARMOUR, came out yesterday; he’s got two scenes in it, one with Bob Hager and another with Jessy Ares. I excitedly announced the film’s release on Facebook and posted the above official COLT promo photo… one of the only Facebook-safe pictures COLT provided! (I’ve posted the racier pics below.)
The next day I logged into Facebook to find a couple of rather unexpected comments on the photo:

Let me just say, for the record, it’s not like that, at least not for Dirk and me. I can tell you from my own personal experience that there’s plenty of emotion on a porn set. There’s lust for my fellow performers, passion for doing a good job, and the pure visceral joy and pleasure of fucking or being fucked. In addition, I’ve always felt genuine affection for each of my scene partners; Titan has sent a parade of classy, friendly, easy-going, smart, HOT men my way, so how could I not? And that emotional connection pours into the scene. Completely mechanical sex would be boring! And would make for pretty terrible porn, in my opinion. We’re human beings, not fuck machines. There’s always been chemistry… and it’s that chemistry that drives the scene.
As to Isaac’s question: I love Dirk, and he has a special place in my heart, as do I in his. That said, both of us feel an intense desire to really connect with people we care about; that desire isn’t limited to just each other, and sometimes that connection includes a sexual component. We each have certain friends — close friends — with whom sex is a natural part of our friendship; it’s part of our bond. Dirk has friends whom he sleeps with on occasion, and I have some as well. I respect the friendships that Dirk has made, as he respects mine… but at no point have I ever felt “shut out” from them. Dirk and I have only one rule in our relationship: “Never bring home anything you wouldn’t want to share.” It works on all sorts of levels, but in this context it allows a sexual openness that is both liberating and exhilarating. As long as I feel included, I’m not jealous at all.
Similarly, when he’s working on set, I feel in no way threatened. Porn sex may not be romantic love, but I know that Dirk enjoys making and exploring the sexual connection he has with his co-stars (just like I enjoy the connections I make with mine). In fact, I encourage those sorts of connections, as does he with me. Maybe he’ll learn some new techniques. Maybe he’ll make a new friend. Maybe he’ll bring that friend home so we can all explore those new techniques together. (It’s happened!) But most importantly, as long as he’s happy and I get to share in that happiness, I’m happy too… and that’s good enough for me.

Live from the Set: Dirk Caber and Hunter Marx get ROUGH at Mr. S Leather!
My sexy hubby is out in SF filming with Titan this week… and his scene partner is none other than TitanMen exclusive Hunter Marx! (Hunter is a good buddy of ours; he and his partner Ethan Anders went on a raucous ski trip with us last year.)
