In François’s Shoes

The release of François Sagat’s Incubus: Part One is nearly upon us, and as promised I’m going to start posting a few special behind-the-scenes treats related to the movie. Here’s the first installment!

Filming for my scene took place in Palm Springs in mid-September. I flew all the way out there, from Boston via Phoenix, at 6:20 in the morning on a Tuesday; when I arrived, I stepped off the plane, drove right to the set, and got ready for filming… and to my great horror I realized that, in my haste to make the early flight, I’d forgotten my leather boots at home! Now as you know, leather boots are an absolute staple of the TitanMan image; it just wouldn’t have been right to film the scene wearing my trusty hiking shoes.

Enter François Sagat… who was kind enough to lend me a pair of his boots (pictured at right) for my scene. How awesome is that! What a gentleman. Talk about having big shoes to fill! …if you know what I mean. And that’s not all I got to do with François. More on that later. 😉

Filming that day went great. The weather was quite… dramatic… and made for a very exciting environment to be shooting in. I can’t wait to see how the movie turns out! What a way to start your porn career…

On my first ever day of filming porn — my scene in Surveillance with good friend Hunter Marx — I, um… broke the set. Have no fear, though… Paul Wilde and Brian Mills miraculously came up with a brilliant solution and saved the day. Learn more in the video.

Something else not mentioned in the video: On my second day at Titan, I rode a bicycle to the studio. I can be such a dork sometimes.

Go Hard or Go Home

A lot of people ask me about my workout routine. It’s nothing special, really… although everyone has a different approach, what I’ve found works well for me is to do one warm-up set with about 50-60% of my maximum weight, then lift as much weight as I can until I reach muscle failure at somewhere between 6 and 10 reps. If I can’t get to 6 reps, it’s too much weight; if I can do more than 10, it’s too little. I do 4 sets of each exercise in this manner and then move onto the next one.

On day 1 I do chest and triceps, day 2 is for back and biceps, day 3 is shoulders, day 4 is legs, and day 5 is a rest day; then I repeat the cycle. At the beginning of every workout I do at least 30 minutes of cardio (on an elliptical machine, typically), and at the end of the workout I do about 150 weighted crunches. (Most people will tell you to do your cardio at the end of the workout, but would I always find myself slacking off and going home instead… so now I do it before anything else in order to make sure it gets done.)

And finally… I never go home after work and then go to the gym; I always go to the gym on my way home. The temptation to stay home and watch TV is just too great otherwise! I reward myself with a little toob time when I get home… usually a Red Sox or Bruins game, or whatever’s on ESPN.
